We had a great time at our recent quilt retreat with Jill Schumacher. For those of you who don't know, Jill is an award winning free motion quilter specializing in heirloom quilting. Check-in was Sunday afternoon at Zephyr Point Presbyterian Conference Center, and after everyone got their goody bags, t-shirts, found their rooms, and set up their machines, we met for dinner in the main dining room. A few hardy souls started their projects on Sunday evening, but most were tired and opted for a good night's sleep before getting started. In addition to learning new techniques, background patterns, practicing feathers, we had a gift exchange on Monday night, a Champagne & Chocolate Shopping Affair at Fabrics Unlimited on Tuesday night, a fun competition on Wednesday night, and Show & Tell on Thursday night. Friday check-out came too soon, and many are already planning for next year's April retreat.
